Lisa Oberman

Lisa’s journey into the world of Classical Ballet began in 1996, when she was first taught by Mme Stepanova. With her expert guidance Mme. Stepanova nurtured Lisa’s love of Classical Ballet and encouraged Lisa to try out for the Kirov Academy in Washington DC.

Lisa was accepted first into the Kirov’s Summer Intensive Program and then continued on and was accepted into their full time program. The connection that Lisa developed with Mme. Stepanova artistically and personally, from her caring and uplifting methods, brought Lisa full circle and she returned to Canada and the roots that she planted for her. Lisa completed her Professional training with Mme. Stepanova, and is so proud to continue the vision that Mme. Stepanova has established for all her students.

Proving that dreams can and do come true, Lisa embarked on her lifetime dream of becoming a Professional Ballerina. In September 2005, Lisa was asked to join USA Ballet Company in Bloomington, Illinois. After an incredible year in the US, Lisa applied for and was invited to join Israel Ballet in Tel Aviv. This September 2006, the journey continues. “Without the Leadership, and thoughtful guidance of my very special teacher, who gave me the inspiration I needed to excel, I never could have achieved the success that I have. Thank you just doesn’t seem adequate, Tatiana believed in me and nurtured my dream and that dream has come true. All it takes is very hard work, dedication, and one very gifted teacher, like the one I was fortunate to find in Tatiana.”
