Ekaterina Tikanova
Ballet Teacher
Ekaterina was born in Russia surrounded by the countries love of Ballet. She was hand picked at the age of 9, after winning a Moscow talent show, to be trained at Russiaʼs prestigious Bolshoi Ballet Academy. Upon successful completion within the academy she has traveled the world working with a variety of renowned Russian Ballet companies, including the Imperial Russian Ballet, under the direction of Maya Plisetskaya and artistic director Gediminas Taranda. She appeared as a soloist in all the classical ballets such as Swan lake, Sleeping Beauty, Nutcracker, Don Quixote and many more. She has had the privilege to work with some of the worlds finest ballet stars including, Julie Kent, Svetlana Zakharova, and Vladimir Malakhov to name a few. It was while touring around the world that she found herself with the responsibility of mentoring younger ballerinas coming up in the profession and realized her love of teaching. She decided to return to the Bolshoi Ballet Academy to complete her Masters degree in Teaching and Choreography.
